Resources/Materials required:	You are encouraged to research and use a wide variety of resources and advisers   Hardware and Software Requirements   l  A computer, smartphone or tablet with an internet connection l  word processing software
Presentation Instructions:	You need to produce a document that is professionally presented, and can be submitted online in a suitable electronic format. Make sure included images are optimised so that the final document is smaller than 10 MB in file size.
Instructions and criteria for successful completion:	Your task to show that you can implement and monitor environmentally sustainable work practices is to create a report on implementing and monitoring sustainable work practices for a workplace, specifically related to the IT industry.   Your report may be based on an actual sustainability improvement program you have managed or significantly participated in, or based on a case study within the IT industry.   Address the following points in your report.   1.         Conducting an environmental review (or audit) of at least one area of resource usage From conducting an environmental review of the workplace, identify the environmental aspects and impacts (ie cause and effect); resources consumed, purchasing practices, and applicable environmental regulations and policies. Identify any areas of non-compliance. Suggest possible improvements for each area identified.   Use the workplace resource checklist for this   2.         Identifying improvements in practices for sustainability For each of the above suggestions, identify possible strategies and actions to achieve the improvement. Base your improvements on research into best practice using internal and external sources of information. From this research, set specific objectives and measurable targets for improvements in environmental sustainability and resource efficiency.   3.         Implementing performance improvements Describe practical steps for your performance improvement strategies and who is responsible for their implementation. List suggested tools and strategies that will measure and monitor the effectiveness of the recommended practices.   4.         Reporting on, promoting and reviewing the sustainability targets and improvement strategies Explain how the sustainability performance outcomes can be (or are) reviewed, reported on and promoted to the organisation’s senior management, staff and external stakeholders to ensure continual improvement.   Suggested outline for the report Introduction Provide a brief overview of the business you have chosen.
