Assignment 1a): Critical reading review
•Critically analyse three (3) scholarly articles relating to the lecture topics in weeks 1-4. You are to present your analysis in no more than 250 words per article with in-text referencing and a reference list.
•Length: 750 words

You will receive feedback on the quality of your critical analysis, writing skills, and referencing technique.

People management challenges for people managers
In groups of no more than six (6), you are required to interview two (2) people who have responsibility for people management in their job. This may be part of their role as a line manager - team leader, supervisor, manager, senior manager - or as a human resource practitioner. You can choose people in different organisations, or at different points in the management hierarchy in the same organisation. One of your interviewees can be a group member and you may interview family members or friends.

•2. how do you cope with those challenges as an individual and within your organisation?

The aim is to compare and contrast what are regarded as the key issues and the ways in which individuals and organisations approach managing people at different organisational levels.
•1. In what ways are the people managers’ experiences of managing people similar, and in what ways are they different to each other? What factors contribute to the similarities and differences?
•2. To what extent do the managers’ experiences reflect the debates in the literature about these aspects of people management?
