You will need to conduct hypothesis testing to examine the following:
1. Is the average amount that people are willing to pay for a entrée less than the forecast value of $19?
2. Does the average income of the people surveyed differ from $70,000?
3. Is there a difference in preference for simple décor and elegant décor? If so, which is preferred?
4. Is there a difference in the mean amount spent in restaurants each month across people with different marital status? If the groups are different, which category (or categories) of material status spend the most? 论文代写
5. Is there a difference in the between mean preference for jazz combo and string quartet? If so, which is preferred?
6. Is there an association between likelihood of attending and the section of the newspaper that is read? Which section (or sections) of the newspaper are superior for advertising?
7. Is there a difference in average price people are willing to pay for an entrée across postcodes? If so, in which post code are people, on average, willing to spend the most?
8. Does the average monthly restaurant expenditure differ across genders? If so, which gender spends the most?
9. Is there a relationship between income and total expenditure? What is the nature of this relationship?
10. Can the average amount people spend on food each month be explained by the average price people are willing to pay for entrees, age, marital status, gender and income?
(*Hint, you may need to recode the ‘Year Born’ variable to determine age).
*(Remember to also test the appropriate assumptions associated with each test)
For each hypothesis test you will need to:
1. State the null and alternate hypotheses;
2. Choose an appropriate statistical technique to test the hypothesis;
3. Provide a summary of the nature (characteristics) of the test selected;
4. Perform the appropriate test using SPSS;
5. Report the results (including test statistic and
p-value);
6. Include appropriate graphical representation of the results (if appropriate);
7. Provide a suitable description for the graphical output;
8. Provide a statistical interpretation; and
9. Provide a non statistical interpretation (in layman’s terms).
